What an Overhaul Is

An overhaul means taking a reel or similar piece of tackle apart, cleaning it, re-lubricating it and replacing worn parts, so that it performs the way it did when it was new. A reel that has seen long use, or that has been fought hard against big fish, collects dirt and wear inside: the rotation grows heavy, or it starts to make a noise it did not make before. An overhaul brings back the smooth action and extends the working life of the tackle.

If You Are Outside Japan

The work is done at our workshop in Japan, so tackle has to travel to us and back. Whether that is worth doing depends on the job, on where you are, and on what shipping and customs would cost in both directions. Get in touch before sending anything and we will work out with you whether it makes sense.
