What We Make

Stand-up big game rods, and only that. Every model is drawn for one way of taking a large fish on your feet, which is why the range is short rather than broad. The fish they are built for:

• Tuna, including bluefin tuna
• Marlin
• Grouper
• Kingfish

The rods come in two series. GACHINKO BATTLE (baitcasting) starts from live bait and bottom fishing and runs up through bluefin tuna and marlin; it includes GACHINKO BATTLE SOUL 160 and SOUL 170. SPEED CHASE is drawn for lure fishing for bluefin tuna and marlin; it is mainly spinning and also carries a baitcasting model, and it includes SPEED CHASE ASSAULT FISHER 1530-50S and PACE MASTER 1530-50S.

Every model in the current line is built on a 100% fiberglass blank.

Where the Rods Come From

STANDING SOUL® is the tackle side of Team Tachitsuri, a big game fishing team that holds club number 837 with the Japan Game Fish Association (JGFA). Tachitsuri means fishing on your feet, and what the team catches is what shapes the rods.

STANDING SOUL® rods have landed a kingfish over 50 kg (110 lb) and a grouper in the 70 kg (154 lb) class. For fishing of that weight we point anglers at the GACHINKO BATTLE baitcasting models.

Team member Manato Mukaezato holds Jr. world records for greater amberjack (kingfish) and grouper, all of them taken before he finished junior high school.

Kouji Yoshida, who founded the team, appears in Standing Hunts on Fishing Vision, a Japanese channel devoted to fishing.

The rods are drawn and built in Japan. Soul Shop Co., Ltd., founded on 5 October 2015, works out of Mishima in Shizuoka Prefecture.

Ordering and Shipping

Our online store currently ships within Japan only. We cannot yet calculate international shipping, duties or import taxes at checkout, so an order with a delivery address outside Japan cannot be completed online.

Overseas inquiries are handled individually. Send us the model you are after and your country of delivery, and we will quote it for you.

Prices in our store are in Japanese yen (JPY), and payment is taken in JPY.
